In Sanatana Dharma, every living being is respected. In it snakes are revered and worshiped as deities. Naga Panchami is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha (new moon) in the month of Aadi. This day is completely dedicated to Naga Devas.
The day of Naga Panchami is very special. Because Mangala Gauri fast is also being observed on this day. Therefore, on the day of Nag Panchami, there will be a special benefit of worshiping Lord Shiva, Nag Devta as well as Mother Parvati.

When Maha Vishnu lies down he becomes a bed, when he wants to sit he becomes a throne, when he walks he becomes Nara, i.e. Lakshmana, it is the snake that is always with Anantha.

Naga Panchami is a Mythological Story
Kashyapa, the son of Lord Brahma, had four wives. Among them, Nagar was born to Khadri. When she did not listen to her words, she cursed her to fall into the fire and die.
Because of that curse, many nagas fell into the fire and died during the snake sacrifice conducted by King Janamejaya. Astigar stopped Janamejaya’s sacrifice and cursed the Nagas. This Naga Panchami day is the day when the curse of the Nagas was removed.
Naga Panchami Worship (How To Do Naga Puja At Home)
On the first day of pooja, clean the house and start Naga Panchami fast by taking bath early in the morning on Naga Panchami. Apart from anointing the Nagar idol in the temple with turmeric and milk, you can worship a small Nagar made of silver or copper at home.
Worshipers at home should anoint themselves with abhishekas like milk and honey and then perform Archana with flowers and offer Paal Payasam Nivedana.
It is believed that if women do this puja, the health and longevity of their husbands and children will increase.
After completing the pooja you can go to Perumal or Shiva temple and worship, worship the Naga Devas and complete your fast at home.

It is customary to worship the Naga Gods for wealth and prosperity. By worshiping the naga devata, your Kala Sarpa Dosha, naga dosha will be removed. Barricade in life, late marriage, child birth issues can be solved.

A special Abhishek Aradha was held for Nagar idols at Dhanwandri Arogya Peedam today on the occasion of Joint Prayer Naga Chaturthi. On Garuda Panchami tomorrow, special yagas are performed at Dhanwandri Bhagwan Temple to pray to Nagar and Garuda for the blessing of children, marriage of men and women, and more blessings.
A joint prayer will be held at Dhanvandri Arogya Peedam for the removal of Naga Dosha, removal of Bakshi Dosha, avoidance of vehicle accidents, removal of Rahu Ketu and other Naga Doshas, prosperity in the family, knowledge and bravery of children born, and improvement in health.

Garuda Panchami: Garuda Panchami
Garuda Panchami is also celebrated on 2nd August. Just as the Naga is the bed and throne of Lord Vishnu, Garuda is the vehicle. Garuda is the one who can tame the dragon.
During this time worship at the Perumal/Srinivasa temple and light a lamp at the Garuda shrine for longevity and health.
If women fast and worship Garuda on Garuda Panchami day, they will get Mangalya(Marriage) blessing. Childbirth is available. Wealth will increase. The body will be healthy. There is a belief that naga doshas will be removed and prosperity will be gained in life.
